Where have you been?

You may well ask… Having a strange time would be my answer. Still with the head… see previous posts below. So computer use is at a minimum… which for a self confessed techno lover is a little frustrating. I miss the posting… sort of… just renewed my hosting site so the intention is to get posting again… In the meantime a very Happy New Year!

Absent

Apologies again for the lack of posts – lots of them floating around, but still having head problems so not using the computer or my mobile much – but whatever it is does seem to be getting better so hopefully I’ll be back to normal posting soon.

Cracking up

Excuses excuses, but I’m still getting headaches and the buzzyness, which don’t make for being able to think straight or wanting to look at a computer screen. All very frustrating and I am going back to the doctor this week.

So playing catch up, what not to do with a migraine:

Go to a gig – I saw Laura Viers at Bush Hall – acoustic, which was appreciated.

Spend the afternoon out in the blazing sunshine – at the Innocent Fete in Regents Park – luckily there was some wonderful shade. It was ticketed this year so it wouldn’t be crowded, but it still felt crowded. We decided that what was needed was a trip to a proper English fete.

Waiting for hours at the Western Eye Hospital to get my eyes checked out.

Travelling on tubes and trains.

What was actually really good was going for walks in the park.

Head down

So I have been very quiet I know. I somehow managed to take an everlasting migraine pill* and got completely freaked, because it just wouldn’t go away. I couldn’t do anything including looking at a computer screen. It has finally gone, but seems to keep threatening to come back and it’s left me with new floaters (grey bits floating around in my eyes), which I have had before after a migraine and a bit of tinnitus (a buzzyness in my ears), which is new. Not sure why, could be connected to the osteopath, could be hormones, could be all the iron pills**, could be the braces… whatever, I really don’t want it to come back.

* I am reading Harry Potter – had a bit of catching up to do and now on the sixth book.

** Even though the doctor’s answer was to take more iron pills, I decided with a little nudge from S, to be contrary and stop taking them altogether. I need to find a friendlier way to get my iron. Also, found out that both The Aunt and a grandmother suffered from anaemia – genes hey.

Lucky

I had a minor road accident… just one of those things where you’re left thinking; how did that happen? Luckily, no one was hurt, just a bit of shock all round.

On a better note, I think I’ve found a really good osteopath for my wrist… least ways I’m crossing my fingers and holding my breath… well crossing my fingers. He even thinks he’ll be able to get me back doing yoga… I am daydreaming about headstands.

Bang!

I’m under the centre of the storm and it’s making me feel like a little kid.   You know when in the middle of the night there was a thunder storm and you hid under the covers trying not to be afraid.  Well there is a little bit of me doing that right now.

Cool Dog

Sandy has a fan club. This afternoon we heard; “Sandy”, “Sandy”, coming from outside. It was a group of kids calling for her to come out. Of course she just ignored them, such a cool dog.

Ouch!

I have a migraine and I didn’t see it coming.

Where do you want to go?

Sometimes the will is there, but the body isn’t quite up to it. Still have the anemia – a little bored of feeling so tired. In the last couple of weeks though I’ve noticed that my brain is functioning better, slowly does it.

Lovely day on Saturday seeing some friends, but over did it a bit. It’s just knowing when it’s time to go home. A and I ended up having brunch at the not so new Raoul’s in Notting Hill, I’ve missed those eggs.

A break in the rain

Had a nice weekend. A walk around the block turned into a walk to the park and in the park, which was beautiful and not muddy at all, which considering all the rain was strange, but as I was wearing Crocs it was very good, it could have been so messy.

Then I had a car thing again – which all got sorted out, but while it was happening I had an hour to kill, so I went sale shopping and found a jumper I’d looked at before reduced by 50%. One good thing about the weather, it seemed fine to be trying on winter jumpers.

Yesterday was full on, I worked for C who had two guests Jane, an old friend I haven’t seen for years and K who I stayed with the last time I was in NY. There was lots of talking and laughter. I have an ulcer to prove it.

Not so nice I drove up and got a parking ticket for not filling out the permit properly… I’m about to ring. Camden tickets have gone up to £120. I was very calm about it.
