Forget me not

I’ve been off over at Flickr – becoming a bit of an addict. Over 2,000 photo’s are uploaded a minute… that’s a lot to try and look at. Very inspiring though and there are some really wonderful photos.

I love Forget-Me-Not’s and they are everywhere at the moment, these were hiding in a dark corner of the garden.

Protect & Perfect

LOL, I managed to get some of this yesterday…  It has a strange consistency somewhere between a cream and a serum. All I can say is that Boots are going to make a fortune from it, if the interest is anything to go by. For those that don’t know about it, a BBC Horizon programme found that it actually does what it says on the packet and after the programme it sold out in days, there’s lots of it on ebay.

Isabella Plantation

Is looking stunning at the moment – Big R managed to come along too. This is another go at the Orton effect, which is actually quite hard to get right. Not quite happy with this, but after a while it’s hard to tell. It does make it look like a fairytale world.

Nostalgia fix

Check out these scratch ‘n sniff stickers, they are giving me flashbacks to the little kid me. I’ll still pick up an eraser in a shop to see if it smells, although they never seem to these days – someone told me that they’d stopped making them for health and safety reasons, but I don’t know if that’s just one of the those tales. Anyone know if they still make the stickers? I can almost smell that strange so called chocolate smell. [via]

Barbie Cake

A made this for S’s birthday party, which I’m missing, because of the “chicken pox” thing. I hope someone’s going to take some pics.

Learning to Love You More

I followed the trail and it led me here, an interactive art project by Miranda July and a couple of other artists.  There are various assignments to complete from writing to taking photographs – one where you take a pic under your bed – before you clean it.  Some of the stuff is really good, so you can just browse or try an assignment yourself.  I love the way the internet can bring people together like this.

No flooding

Look no flooding.  Beautiful walk, except for when Sandy shocked me by walking down the very steep riverbank and into the Thames – D pulled her out, while I just stood there in shock.

Sky

Tried to capture the amazing sky this evening, frustratingly though I only had my mobile with me – isn’t it always the way.

It was so clear during the day that when I was on the train I could see about six planes at once, they looked both graceful and like they were far too close to each other, just perspective of course, but did make me wonder.

Cupcakes

The Primrose Bakery, a little bit of New York in London – with the best cupcakes in town. Plus they are “dog friendly” so Sandy came too.

open access

OK what do I do on a beautiful Good Friday afternoon… I have just been a bit of a virtual stalker, googling some odd names from the past. I found pictures on Flickr from someone I haven’t seen since university, kinda disconcerting really, having access to someone’s personal pictures, a sign of the times I guess, but it really did make me feel like a stalker, more so perhaps, because I’ve got no interest in contacting them. OK, I hear you saying I could just have not looked, but I admit it I couldn’t resist. Then I found a childhood friends picture on a website, with a lowdown on her career, I could still make out the child’s face I remember, that was kinda fun. It’s like Friends Reunited without having to join. What’s sad is how few names I actually remember, especially from university and quite surprising how few of those I do remember actually come up with any hits on google, but maybe that’s a good thing.
